Maintaining Camera Lenses and Filters

Camera lenses and filters require regular upkeep to maintain peak performance.

Cleaning a Camera Lens

Step 1:

• Use the Ultra Brush to remove large dust or dirt particles, moving from the center of the lens to the outside edges.
• Canned air products such as Dust Pro may also be used to remove larger dust or dirt particles.

Step 2:

• Use the Soft-Tek split fiber microfiber cloth to remove minor smudges, moving in a circular motion from the middle of the lens to the outside edges.

Step 3:

• For a more aggressive cleaning, use Premium Grade Lens Cleaning Tissue and Formula MC or LensBrite liquid lens cleaner.
• Place a few drops of cleaner on the tissue and rub in a circular motion from the center of the lens toward edges.
• Before the liquid dries, use a dry sheet of tissue and clean in a circular motion until the fluid is gone.

Premium Grade Lens Cleaning Tissue has a soft and virtually lint-free texture, specifically designed for cleaning lenses and has been manufactured to Federal Specification A-A-50177B

LensBrite liquid lens cleaner is specifically designed to provide anti-fog action.

Formula MC liquid lens cleaner is formulated to clean without leaving residue behind on the lens. Formula MC has been tested, approved and purchased by NASA for use on manned space flights.
